'COHORT' THE NAME
In 1988 we agreed on a unique name by which we would be recognizable and the choice was and remained 'COHORT'. The term 'Cohort' comes from the Latin word 'Cohors' (the basic infantry tactical unit of the Roman army - the tenth part of the legion), which in the Roman times counted 400 to 600 people.
At the beginning of the eighties, as everywhere in this area, it was conceived by the organized cheering of football fans. Older fans fled after the blame with Zvezda, and the young forces were organized on the basis of the most powerful and traditionally richest Split Torcida, so somehow we spontaneously called it 'Osijek Torcida'.
